Shaylee completed her student teaching in 2019 and graduated from Utah Valley University in Music, the violin being her primary instrument. She has been teaching private lessons since 2010 because her neighbor asked if she could teach her two kids piano. Shaylee became a part of the Nebo Youth Philharmonic in high school, as well as Chamber Orchestra. Her conductors chose her to play in the All-Star Utah Symphony concert in 2012.

Shaylee worked at Mt. Nebo Middle School as the Orchestra Assistant 2022-2023. The orchestra teacher contacted her and asked her because she was going to have a baby. Shaylee taught her orchestras for 4 months while she was gone.

Shaylee studied under Cynthia Richards for most of her time at UVU. She decided to switch over to Donna Fairbanks for her last two semesters because she felt there was much to learn from other instructors.

She studied independently in a position at Northridge Elementary school.  The school had an after-school orchestra program in which she assisted with and conducted a concert.

Shaylee assisted in Payson Junior High's orchestras in 2022-as well as performed in their concert-and currently substitutes for the orchestra/band teachers there and at other schools.

Shaylee has accompanied some choirs and cello performances on the piano. She got asked to play in The Messiah because the conductor had learned of her name from a fellow musician. She has been playing in The Messiah for more than a few years and loves it for the enjoyment of sharing music with the community. She loves learning and seeing students succeed.
